ARCHIVED - April 24 The BBC Symphony Orchestra returns to the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia

Works by Beethoven, Britten and Sibelius as the orchestra visits Murcia for the first time since 2008

15 years after their last concert in the Region the BBC Symphony Orchestra returns to Murcia on Monday April 24, performing at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas under the baton of Sakari Oramo and with violin soloist Inmo Yang.

The works on the programme are Beethoven’s violin concerto, Benjamin Britten’s Four Sea Interludes from the opera Peter Grimes, and Sibelius’ 5^th symphony.

The BBC Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1930 by Sir Adrian Boult and every year presents the Proms and a full season at the Barbican Centre in London. The BBC broadcasts around 100 of its concerts every year on television and radio.
