ARCHIVED - Totana residents return home after enforced quarantine
They were quarantined as immediate contacts when six agricultural workers tested positive

Yesterday Spain began a 10 day period of official mourning for all those who have died from the Covid-19 pandemic, amongst them many health workers, members of the police, emergency workers and volunteers.
More than 26,800 people are officially recorded as having died, and it’s known that in reality the figure is much higher, as many died in care homes or at home without having been officially tested using the PCR system and are therefore not included in the official figures.
The photograph shows the official act in Totana, the only municipality in the Murcia Region left behind in phase one of the de-escalation process due to an outbreak which occurred amongst its agricultural workers two weeks ago when six workers tested positive and were admitted to the hospital Virgen del Alcázar de Lorca .
All immediate contacts were taken to the Centro de Alto Rendimiento, (CAR) a high intensity training centre operated by the volleyball club Voley Playa de Lorca which has sufficient internal accommodation and suitable space in which to enforce a quarantine and after initial testing, eleven people were quarantined in the centre for 14 days, the remaining co-workers considered to be less of a risk to their immediate contacts permitted to self-quarantine at home.
All have now returned home.
This week the town hall posted an emotional video thanking its residents for their collaboration during this crisis and all those who have worked so hard to help them through this difficult time.
