ARCHIVED - Torre Pacheco launches toy collection for children affected by La Palma volcano
Between now and Monday November 29, toys can be deposited at collection points in the Murcia town
Hundreds of families have been displaced from their homes after the Cumbre Vieja volcano in La Palma erupted eight weeks ago, leaving towns obliterated by molten rock.
In an act of solidarity and an attempt to bring a little comfort to the children affected, Torre Pacheco Council has launched a Christmas collection with an appeal for new and non-warlike games and other toys.
Donations can be deposited at two collection points until November 29:
- Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 2pm: Town Hall youth centre
- Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm: Centre for Performing Arts (CAES)
- Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to 1pm: Town Hall youth centre
