ARCHIVED - Tickets on sale now for the Cabalgata of the Three Kings in Murcia City
One of the largest parades of the year in the city of Murcia heralds the arrival of the Reyes Magos
December has only just started, but in the city of Murcia the lights have already been switched on at the 40-metre tree in Plaza Circular and as of Friday 6th December tickets have gone on sale for the grand Cabalgata de los Reyes, the parade featuring the arrival of the Three Kings on the evening of 5th January.
The arrival of the Kings is a huge event in the capital city of the Murcia Region and this is the largest parade in the region, with thousands of participants, and tons of sweets and gifts flung out into the crowd. The city centre is always jam-packed all along the route, and the parade takes a good 4 hours to pass by, so it can be a tiring evening for those who are standing, especially if they have enthralled youngsters perched on their shoulders!
13,000 seats along the route are being sold in advance and the first batch went on sale on 6th December at the website www.eventosgil.com.(Please note, the site advises users to log in through Google Chrome as it apparently doesn´t work proprely via Internet Explorer. Please note, once seats have been purchased no changes can be made to the purchase and no money refunded.)
The seats sold in advance are in the Gran Vía, the main street in the city centre,Avenida de la Constitución the Barrio del Carmen, Calle Torre de Romo and Calle Mozart.
Any seats left over can be purchased on the day of the event from 15.00 onwards, as can those in Avenida San Juan de la Cruz which are only sold in situ on the day of the cabalgata.
Prices range from 5.49 euros in the front row, through 4.99 euros in rows 2 and 3 to 3.99 euros for the remainder. It's well worth bagging a seat if you can as it's a long night if you have to stand for the duration of the procession!.
