ARCHIVED - Sunny skies return to the Costa Cálida
Temperatures heading back up into the twenties for the weekend
The short spell of slightly inclement weather which affected the Region of Murcia on Tuesday and Wednesday has now come to an end, according to the meteorologists at Aemet, and on Thursday clear skies are expected in the Costa Cálida after early morning fog clears in the mountains as the sun begins to push temperatures back up towards the 20s.
Even as the cloud cover began to lift on Wednesday the thermometer at the Aemet weather station in Mazarrón reached 18.9 degrees, and as early clouds on Thursday disperse during the day similar figures are likely throughout the Region. Aemet are forecasting maximums of 15 or 16 degrees in Cartagena, Yecla and Caravaca de la Cruz, 17 in Lorca and 19 in the city of Murcia, and on Friday the forecast is almost an exact carbon copy: light cloud in the morning in some areas, giving way to predominantly clear skies and temperatures reaching the high teens.
By the weekend the sunny weather will probably push afternoon highs back above the 20-degree mark, welcoming in the last week of February with the kind of conditions which in general make the Costa Cálida such a popular destination during the winter months!
