ARCHIVED - Sunday 22nd December Free family tree planting in the Sierra Espuña
This is a family activity run by the regional parks department
Registration for this activity opens on the 22nd November and places are limited to 40 participants. prior registration via 968 43 14 30 required.
This activity includes a 1.5km route and is run by the Ricardo Codorníu visitor centre in the Sierra Espuña, targeting a family audience. participants will cover a distance of 1.5km, so a minimum age of 5 is recommended for participation, and commentary about the flora and fauna seen en-route is in Spanish. The route concludes at the nursery of the Sierra Espuña, where participants will help to plant some of the native species grown in the nursery.
Sierra Espuña: This vast forested mountainous area offers many opportunities to enjoy walking, picnics and the open air and lies just behind the town of Alhama. There is a central visitor's centre, the Centro de Visitantes Ricardo Codorniu, which offers maps, and general information about the flora and fauna, as well as several picnic and rest areas with restaurants. Within the park area are the rural districts of El Berro and Gebas, two attractive villages which offer multiple options for camping, overnight accommodation, restaurants and exploring the Sierra Espuña.
