The Christmas lights were switched on in the centre of the city of Lorca on Saturday evening as a crowd of thousands flocked to the Plaza de España to see the ceremony and enjoy the entertainment provided.
Needless to say, the festive season in Lorca is not confined to the Plaza de España and elsewhere in the city, the countryside and all over the municipality as many as 124 illuminated arches have been installed in major thoroughfares, as well as 30 Christmas trees. But the star of the show is undoubtedly the 20-metre tree in the heart of the city, which is illuminated by a stunning 55,000 LED bulbs!
