November 30 L'Alfàs celebrates Romania National Day

L'Alfàs del Pi has planned a huge multicultural festival on the last Sunday of the month

The municipal tent in l'Alfàs del Pi will be transformed to host the celebration of Romania's National Day on Sunday November 30, from 11am until 10pm.

This festive event is organised by the Asociatia Romana Carpatica, based in the town, in collaboration with Zestrea Romaniei of Alicante and the Town Hall.

The activities will begin at 11am and the official opening will take place at 12.30pm, with the reception of authorities and a performance by students of the Romanian Language, Culture and Civilisation (LCCR) course from Marina Baixa, which will bring together more than one hundred children's and youth voices.

Throughout the day there will be performances of traditional music and dance, as well as a wide selection of Romanian cuisine with typical dishes such as sarmale, grilled mici, cârnați and traditional desserts, accompanied by wine and pălincă.

A celebration of history, integration and diversity, Romania's National Day, officially commemorated on December 1, honours the union of the Romanian provinces in Alba Iulia in 1918, a milestone that gave rise to modern Romania.

L'Alfàs del Pi, a municipality where more than 50% of the population is of foreign origin, once again becomes the setting for a commemoration marked by its inclusive nature.

The Mayor of l'Alfàs del Pi, Vicente Arques, has encouraged “residents and visitors to come to the municipal tent on Sunday November 30 to enjoy a day of community, culture and tradition. It is a source of pride that our municipality continues to be a benchmark for diversity and harmonious coexistence.”
