This climb to the peaks of the Sierra Espuña, where the highest point is over 1,500 metres above sea level, is being held to coincide with the European Natura 2000 network day and offers a chance to discover some of the treasures which can be found in the mountains. These include various species of flora and fauna which are native to the area and are protected throughout Europe.
The 7-kilometre route is described as being of medium to high difficulty and is appropriate only for fit adults and children aged over 12. Those who suffer from vertigo or who are not fully mobile should not register.
The event is scheduled to last from 9.00 to 14.00 and free registration is online here from 21 April.
