Los Alcázares creates unique environmentally friendly Christmas
The town is looking to enjoy Christmas this year in a responsable and green way
The Department of Public Roads and the Department of Parks and Gardens of the Los Alcázares City Council have worked tirelessly this year to decorate the town's parks and squares with recycled and reused materials.
The town's snowmen have been made from used tyres, while the reindeers of the town have been made from tree prunings. These christmas characters, amongst others, can be found throughout the town in different parks and squares this Christmas.
It was the town hall staff that were in charge of this reusing operation throughout the municipality. They themselves made the effort to create the Christmas cheer in the town and curate fun photos opportunities for all the family to enjoy.
“We wanted the Christmas decorations to be full of magic and excitement, and at the same time to remind us of the importance of recycling and reusing to help protect the environment,” explains the Councillor for Public Works, María José Benzal.
The councillor continued by stating that, “We invite children and adults to stroll through our parks and gardens in search of this very unique decoration that we have made with great care and that reinforces the commitment of the Los Alcázares City Council to caring for the environment.”
Therefore, if you are in Los Alcázares this Christmas, do not forget to check out the tyre snowmen and the other interesting Christmas characters the town hall have placed throughout the municipality to save money and reuse old waste materials.
