ARCHIVED - Fire at re-cycling plant in Jumilla controlled
There were no injuries although the fire was spectacular
Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium (CEIS) were called out to a fire at a recycling plant located in the Los Romerales de Jumilla industrial estate on Tuesday morning. According to reports from the Center for Coordination and Emergencies 112 Region of Murcia, the fire started at 10.30 am. Local Police patrols and CEIS firefighters (9 firefighters and 1 co-ordinator with 5 fire fighting vehicles attended the incident. There were no injuries and the fire was brought under control by lunchtime.
Although the fire is under control, it will still require further hours of work to completely extinguish the fire and move the smouldering materials due to the sheer volume of material involved.
