ARCHIVED - FINED!! 2 positive Covid-19 cases on Condado de Alhama driving around the urbanistion
Some people still don´t seem to understand how highly contagious and dangerous this virus is
Police are becoming increasingly exasperated by the number of people who are still ignoring the lockdown instructions of the State of Emergency and are behaving in an irreponsible fashion which endangers the lives of other people.
Every day the Spanish Health Authorities are publishing the latest figures explaining to the public how the virus is evolving here in Spain, making sure they are fully aware of the current situation and just how dangerous this virus is for many people within the community.
Yesterday, the latest figures showed over 102,000 cases here in Spain and more than 9,000 deaths, and today this figure will climb even higher.
So the lockdown is valid, it is a state order and we MUST all comply with this order. This isn´t the UK, this is Spain, things are different here, attitudes are different here, and the state has issued a declaration of emergency which gives the Spanish Government an enormous amount of power to enforce the law.
At the moment the expat urbanisations are being pretty much left alone, and trusted to obey the law, but should more infractions of this nature be recorded, then all those who are currently breaking the rules can expect harsher treatment as the number of deaths rise.
The police statement from Alhama de Murcia police says that last night a police patrol noted two people in a car, a 73 year old man and his 33 year old daughter driving around the Condado de Alhama urbanisation.
An ID check revealed that both had tested positive for Covid-19 and were under strict orders to remain isolated in their home.
Both now face a steep fine for breaching the lockdown, driving 2 in a vehicle and failing to comply with the quarantine order.
