Cabo de Palos and La Manga buses to run until end of September

The municipality of Cartagena has chosen to extend its additional bus service that connects the city with La Manga del Mar Menor until the end of September, and to maintain the line that connects Cabo de Palos with Veneziola, the end of La Manga, operational 24 hours a day.

At the same time, it has been announced that the municipal Beach Bus service that connects Cartagena with the bathing areas of El Portús and Cala Cortina will be operational until Sunday September 17, from which point it will cease for another year.

Initially, these public transport links were due to conclude on September 10, but they will now be operational for another three weeks following requests from Cartagena Mayor, Noelia Arroyo.

“The purpose is to strengthen tourism, provide coverage for the festivities of La Manga and make the use of public transport to make traffic in the area more fluid,” she explained.

During the summer season, there has been a notable increase in the use of Movibus buses in La Manga, which the City Hall say demonstrates the effectiveness of this means of transport.

The Cartagena-La Manga direct bus service has extended its departure times this season, covering journeys from 6.30am to 2am, with 30-minute intervals from Monday to Friday and 60 minutes at weekends.

Meanwhile, the Movibus lines connecting Cabo de Palos with Veneziola are operational 24 hours a day, with journeys every 30 minutes.
