Brighter weather ahead but strong winds remain a concern: Alicante weather forecast February 9-12

Wind alerts remain in place across Alicante but brighter weather is expected as conditions slowly begin to improve

The unsettled February weather continues this week with cloud, the odd spot of rain, and once again that strong wind. While not much rain is expected, the wind will be the main thing to watch out for, especially inland. Temperatures are expected to rise a little, but the wind will make it feel cooler at times. 

Monday February 9

Monday will start off cloudy with some rain in the early hours of the morning. As the morning goes on, the weather should improve, the clouds will break up, and the sun should make an appearance. Wind will be light to moderate but inland areas will experience very strong gusts later in the day.

Tuesday February 10

Tuesday will be much the same, with some cloudy and sunny spells. The temperatures should rise overnight, making the morning feel warmer. Although the wind is sticking around and may be strong at times, again especially inland.

Wednesday February 11

Wednesday will be cloudier and will get greyer as the day goes on. By the afternoon, there will be a chance of light, scattered rain, mainly inland and in the north of the province. Temperatures continue to edge up but that strong wind remains a feature.

Thursday February 12

Thursday looks similar, with cloud and some bright spells. Some light rain is possible early in the day, mainly in the northern inland areas of the province of Alicante. The strong wind will finally start to die down, but the temperatures are also set to drop a little too.

Overall, it looks like it will be a much brighter week in Alicante. Hopefully, this is the start of more spring-like weather. Keep an eye on the weather updates though, as there are still wind alerts in place. Take care in coastal and exposed areas and layer up as the weather continues to be changeable at the moment.

• Thursday February 12: Min 12ºC, Max 22ºC

Weather alerts: Strong winds continue

Low-level wind alerts are in place across Alicante from Monday to Wednesday, with gusts of up to 70 km/h in both coastal and especially inland areas.

Alert period: Monday-Wednesday, 9:00 pm-midnight each day, northern coast and inland areas.

Conditions should gradually ease by Thursday, but gusts may still appear at times, so take care if you’re outdoors.
