ARCHIVED - Andalusia reports three deaths and 3,192 new coronavirus cases in 48 hours: Covid update 12 April
The Spanish region of Andalusia, its health council has warned, is once again in a high-risk situation, and there are likely to be more difficult times ahead.
There were 3,192 new Covid cases and three deaths in Andalusia over the weekend, according to the latest data released by the regional statistics institute on Monday, 12 April.
The 14-day incidence rate in the region has been climbing upwards for 13 days in a row now and has reached 225.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, up 69.9 compared to Monday last week. This is a considerable increase and greatly increases the likelihood of further restrictions being applied later in the week.
On Monday morning, there were 1,393 coronavirus patients in Andalusian hospitals, 60 more than on Sunday, and 302 patients were in ICU intensive care units, three more than on Sunday.
