ARCHIVED - A sunny weekend in the Costa Cálida with temperatures nudging 20 degrees
The weather looks set to remain fair for the Águilas Carnival processions next week
As the last week of February approaches the weather continues settled in the Region of Murcia, with conditions over the weekend forecast by Aemet to be sunny and bright with maximum temperatures remaining in the high teens or, at most, the low twenties.
On Friday there is expected to be some cloud cover in the Campo de Cartagena, especially in the morning, and after temperatures dipped just below zero at sunrise in Yecla in the north the afternoon highs will be around 14 or 15 degrees in Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla, 16 in Lorca and 17 in Cartagena and the city of Murcia. The maximums are likely to be slightly higher on Saturday, again after some low cloud clears in the Campo de Cartagena during the morning, with more of the same expected for Sunday as top temperatures remain close to 20 degrees.
Looking further ahead, next week is forecast to bring more sunny weather as the afternoons begin to warm up, and the chances of rain threatening the main Carnival parades in Águilas and other parts of the Costa Cálida look very slim indeed!
