ARCHIVED - 88 new cases and 7 deaths in the Murcia Region; Covid Friday 26th February
The situation in the region’s hospitals continues to improve as the number of patients slowly falls
Slowly, slowly the third wave continues to subside in the Murcia Region and by Friday the number of active cases had fallen to 1,252.
Of these, 993 are undergoing quarantine at home and the remaining 259 are receiving hospital treatment, a fall of 30 since yesterday.
These figures are the lowest since before the surge of the third wave at the beginning of January and it is hoped that if the number of new cases detected remains low across the weekend, then by next week Murcia could be moving into a lower risk classification and may be able to consider re-opening the interiors of bars and restaurants.

Patients in home isolation with mild symptoms: 993
Total number of hospitalisations: 259

Fatalities: unfortunately, the fatalities continue to mount up and within the last 24 hour period seven patients died from coronavirus in the region, taking the overall total to 1,455 sicne the pandemic began.
The five men and two women were aged 83, 83, 86, 58, 65, 91 and 78; four were from Murcia city, and the remainder from Los Alcázares, Mula and Moratalla.
