A resident of the municipality of Alhama de Murcia has been placed under investigation by the Seprona wildlife protection wing of the Guardia Civil after he was reported to have been involved in maltreating dogs kept on his property, with people supplying video evidence showing him beating the animals with a stick.
The local man is aged 85 and his case has been placed in the hands of the courts of Totana.
In the meantime, members of the public are urged to report any incidents of maltreatment to the Seprona wildlife protection wing of the Guardia by telephone on the 062 line, by email to seprona@guardiacivil.org or via social network sites.
