ARCHIVED - 7th March main Carnival parade 2020 in Torre Pacheco
The celebrations in Torre Pacheco include a drag queen gala for the first time this year
Carnival is now firmly part of the annual calendar of events in Torre Pacheco, the number of participants continuing to grow annually, and this year for the first time a drag queen gala has been added to the schedule.
The key event for non-Spanish speakers is the grand parade which is taking place this year on Saturday 7th March, and most events take place in or starting at the CAES Centre and the Centro Cívico.
Friday 28th February
22.00: The gala to choose the key Carnival figures of Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma takes place at the Centro Cívico. Admission 5 euros, either in advance by telephone on 618 634822 or on the door.
Sunday 1st March
18.00: The first Torre Pacheco drag queen gala at the Centro Cívico with prizes up for grabs of 800, 400 and 200 euros for the best costumes and performances. Admission 5 euros, either in advance by telephone on 618 634822 or on the door.
Saturday 7th March
12.00: Children’s carnaval in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with costumes, fancy dress and plenty off fun and games.
18.00: The start of the main Carnival parade at the CAES with more than 30 troupes from all over the Region of Murcia. The parade follows a circular route through the centre of the town.
23.00: A grand Fiesta Carnavalera in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
