7th January 2020 Sleeping Beauty by the Saint Petersburg Ballet at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia

The ever popular ballet performed by one of the most prestigious companies in the world

The Classical Ballet of Saint Petersburg, directed by Andrei Batalov, perform the ballet Sleeping Beauty, with the score of Tchaikovsky and the choreography of Marius Petipá adapted by Andrey Batalov himself.

Batalov learnt his craft at the “Vaganova” ballet academy in St. Petersburg and in 1994 moved from the Ballet of the Mikhailovskiy Theatre in the city to the Ballet Mariinskiy. There can be no higher praise than the fact that he has been mentioned in comparison to Baryshnikov, and Nijinsky, and he went on to become the founder of the Classical Ballet of Saint Petersburg.

The company constantly tours Europe and the USA with a repertoire which includes Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quijote and The Nutcracker, performing contemporary choreographies by Alexey Miroshnichenko, Emil Faski and others. Their version of Sleeping Beauty was named as the best dance spectacle of 2018 at the Premios Teatro de Rojas.

The performance at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia begins at 20.00 with tickets priced at between 18 and 27 euros.
