As usual there is a full program of events going on in Águilas over the festive season, with plenty of entertainment at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena and other venues, music in the streets, activities for children and the all-important arrival of Father Christmas (on 23rd December) and the Three Kings, whose major parade takes place on the evening of 5th January.
Thursday 5th December
The Christmas lights are switched on in the town centre of Águilas
18.30: Free popcorn for children in the Plaza de España
Opening of a new exhibition at the Auditorio Infanta Elena, entitled “Los Poetas del Flamenco” and containing works by artist Pedro J. Rabal. The exhibition remains open until 4th January. Click for further details.
At the same time the José Matrán photography association is holding its annual collective exhibition at the Casa de la Cultura until 5th January.

Christmas market in the Plaza de España.
Tuesday 10th December
18.00: “Un científico en el supermercado” with José Manuel López Nicolás at the Casa de la Cultura.
Friday 13th December
21.00: The 5th concert in the 2019-20 Promúsica cycle at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena features the ADUA Symphony Orchestra with violinist Laura Rodríguez and viola soloist Isabel Villanueva performing music by Chausson, Paganini and Beethoven. Saturday 14th December

18.00: Prizes for the best nativity scenes are awarded at the Casa de la Cultura.
21.00: The 16th annual festival of Christmas music by traditional “cuadrillas” groups at the Casa de la Cultura.

10.00: The Christmas running race begins by the statue of Icarus on the seafront in the port.

19.00: Father Christmas arrives in the Plaza de España bringing free popcorn for children and bouncy castles!

17.30: Puppet theatre in the Plaza de España.
