35 degrees and climbing: Alicante weather forecast June 16-19
The intense heat could result in showers and even thundery episodes in parts of Alicante

Average temperatures on Wednesday June 18
While much of Spain prepares for an intense heat wave that will see temperatures soar above 40°C in southern regions this week, Alicante and the Costa Blanca will experience a more moderate but still significant temperature rise. The province will see thermometers climb toward 35°C as part of the nationwide warming trend, though coastal breezes may provide some relief from the extreme heat affecting inland areas.
Monday June 16

We can expect a pleasant start to the week with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. Morning low clouds may linger across northern areas before clearing, while high altitude clouds will drift in during the afternoon. Haze could reduce visibility at times.
Temperatures will remain steady for the time being or drop slightly from weekend levels. Moderate northeasterly coastal winds will keep seaside areas comfortable, while inland areas will see light, variable breezes shifting to an easterly direction by afternoon.
Tuesday June 17

Partly cloudy skies will dominate again on Tuesday with high altitude cloud cover increasing throughout the day. Afternoon heat will trigger cloud development inland, potentially producing showers and thunderstorms that could turn locally intense. Haze remains a possibility.
Orange storm alerts have been activated along the northern coast and inland Alicante from 2pm onwards, while a yellow warning is in place on the southern coast.
The heat will begin building as minimum temperatures rise inland while staying stable along the coast. Daytime temperatures will increase across the province.
Expect light, variable winds that strengthen during the afternoon.
Wednesday June 18

A mix of partly cloudy to clear conditions will prevail mid-week, though high afternoon temperatures will mean more cloud cover inland and the possibility of showers in the far north.
Light, variable winds will shift predominantly easterly by afternoon, with occasional stronger gusts possible along the central coastline.
Thursday June 19

Clear morning skies will give way to afternoon cloud buildup inland, with high cloud cover spreading across Alicante province by evening. Haze could impact visibility once again. Inland areas should prepare for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms as the atmospheric instability continues.
Temperatures will hold relatively steady from Wednesday's levels. Wind patterns remain light and variable, becoming easterly through the afternoon with periodic intensification along central coastal areas.
