6 hostelry businesses will be fined for serving meals behind closed doors
Members of the Cartagena Local Police have filed a total of 144 denuncias this weekend for breaches of the regulations currently in place to reduce coronavirus infections,
Most of the sanctions are due to non-compliance with measures that have been in place for months, such as the mandatory use of a mask, perimeter confinement or a curfew. 39 denuncias were filed for not wearing a mask, 32 for driving non-cohabiting people in vehicles without wearing a mask, 13 for breaching perimeter confinements and 20 for breaching the curfew.
Cartagena councillor for Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Torralba, has once again called for responsibility.
“It’s clear that this situation is dragging on, but we are at the worst peak of infections that we have had since the beginning of the pandemic and we cannot relax now. The numbers of infected and deceased are not a joke and the measures that have been adopted are not a game either. We must be responsible and do everything in our power to avoid greater evils, ”he said.
In addition, 31 people have been sanctioned for congregating in groups among non-cohabitants, 3 for meeting several non-cohabitants in a private home and 6 to various establishments that were caught serving food in restaurants that should have been completely closed. During the weekend the Local Police installed 52 checkpoints in which the agents carried out 1,258 vehicle checks.
