ARCHIVED - Weekly markets open again in Los Alcázares and San Pedro del Pinatar
These are in different locations and currently only comprise food stalls
Slowly, slowly street markets are re-opening, albeit with a maximum of 25% of the stalls and with strict hygiene measures in place.
In both Los Alcázares and San Pedro del Pinatar only food stalls will be open initially and as the de-escalation process progresses, further stalls will be permitted to open as well. Both municipalities have moved their markets into different locations in order to create open spaces and ensure that social distancing can be observed.
It’s a far cry from the normal scrum which makes market shopping such an enjoyable way to spend a morning, but at least it’s an opportunity to buy fresh produce which isn´t pre-packed into plastic trays!
At the moment temperature controls are being taken in Los Alcázares by Protección Civíl, as they are in other areas of the region, and clients are asked to wear masks, gloves and use handwash. Clients are asked to shop “solo” and wait in a queue to be served by the stallholders, observing social distancing.
Los Alcázares
The Tuesday morning market in Los Alcázares has moved to the Polideportivo Municipal sports ground.
Access to the market is via the hall of the municipal swimming pool and the exit is in avenida Joaquín Blume.
